It Never Gets Old

Once again, to usher in the Christmas Season, our little hip hop elves:

Rappy Rhanksgiving!

Honestly, could they get any cuter?
(in our new bathroom, I promise a tour is coming...)

Look at her, coloring with her baby on her back!

They wanted their faces painted like Native Americans.
I did not have any face paint, but I did have some Color Stay lipstick!

This one wanted crowns on her cheeks!

*title of post comes from our Scooby Doo Thanksgiving book!

Quick Before and After

Remember this sad hibiscus? She was left here by the previous owners and needed some TLC.
Look at the crumbling pot!

Now look at her, repotted, fertilized and on a fancy roller in our new backyard!
You can catch a glimpse of the new patio and second try at sod. Sad, sad story what happened to the first try at sodding the entire backyard. This time, we're doing well.

She's got so many new leaves sprouting and four buds ready to bloom again! Now that she's finally in the right size and not-crumbling abode, I hope she'll take off!

Trivia Question: Multiple Choice

I hear so often, "Wow! SJ really looks like HJ."

I also hear just as often, "Wow! SJ really looks like AE."

HJ at 3 months:

AE at 3 months:

Whatcha think? What's your vote?

A) He looks like HJ.
B) He looks like AE.
C) He is the PERFECT combination of both!

11 weeks

At this point SJ,
  • coos and squeals
  • weighs 11 lbs. 5 oz.
  • smiles in return
  • drools
  • puts his hands together
  • puts his hands in his mouth
  • gnaws on his hands
  • drools
  • spits up...a lot
  • rolls from tummy to back
  • wears 3-6 month size clothes
  • drools
  • stands and bounces with assistance
  • stares at and smiles at the ceiling fan
  • tracks objects with his eyes
  • drools

Have I mentioned the drooling? The doctor thought he might be teething...uh, no. Let's sleep through the night before we begin THAT adventure.

At least it will be the last time we get to comfort a teething child.

The nights have been pretty rough for eleven weeks, but the last two nights have yielded in almost six hour stretches for our little man. Just in time for our trip next week to Georgia for Thanksgiving!

The First Time and The Last Time

SJ got to make his first visit to the Magic Kingdom while Nana and Papa came to visit.

He spent most of that visit here:

Loud noises still trouble HJ:

I love that our five-year-old still allows us to pick her up and hold her.

When asked what ride she would most like to go on, HJ named the carousel.

AE on Dumbo:

Papa spent most of the day with SJ:

The girls both got to ride "Thunder Mountain"!

They also got to meet the latest obsession:
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her expression, gazing up at Woody!

This one is priceless!

And here is what my life is like now with three:

Can you hear the theme song of Wonder Woman playing? Not quite...

As SJ has so many of his "firsts" right now, we've been dealing with the ugly side of reflux, sleep deprivation and getting used to life with three. We try and keep reminding ourselves that THIS IS THE LAST TIME WE'LL HAVE A NEWBORN.

Is he really still a newborn?

No. He's eleven weeks.

And it's the last time we'll have an eleven-week-old baby.

Baby Love

While we were in the hospital, we had some pictures taken...

He's already 9 weeks old and growing leaps and bounds.

He coos. He smiles. He spits up. But then he smiles again.

I'm drinking it all in. It's the last time we'll have one this size.
