Hydrangeas from my neighbor's house two summers ago

Getting ready to read some scripture in a wedding next month. What an honor! I've printed it out and I'll be reading it aloud to the crazy dog each day for practice. Practiced on The Daddy last night and he didn't fall asleep during it, so...

Here's what I'll be reading:

Colossians 3:12-17

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Did you have any scripture read at your wedding? What did you pick?

Thanks for visiting my blog and the comments. LOVE the name Ansley. We were originally going to go with Ainsley but my hubby liked Ansley better so it won. To me it's such a pretty name. What cute girls you have. :)

What beautiful flowers! I love hydrangeas!
We had the following verses read at our wedding in 2000:

1 Corinthians 13:4-13

4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Amanda

Our pastor spoke from a passage in Mark that explained part of Communion and he was able to share the plan of salvation; we (my husband and I) then had communion and lit the unity candle while How Beautiful was sung.
