Our after-lunch conversation:
Mama: Make sure you don't drop any of those M&Ms on the floor. Bailey can't have chocolate.
HJ: Why, Mama?
Mama: Dogs are allergic to chocolate. It's not good for them.
AE: 'Lergic? He's 'lergic to CHOCOLATE? (inflection with disbelief)
Mama: Yes, honey. It would make him sick. HJ, do you know why Bailey can't eat any chocolate?
HJ: Yes, Mama. BECAUSE HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY HANDS.

I think our dog is convinced that if she just had opposeable thumbs that she'd be allowed to sit at the table with the rest of us. ;)
