Don't you love getting surprises?
(It's my favorite!)

Today was our 12 week appointment with Baby C.

My weight gain goal= 2 pounds (but I would have been happy with 4 pounds)

And get this: I gained ZERO!

DISCLAIMER: At my last appointment, I gained 6 pounds in two weeks. At my last appointment, I didn't take off my mama-jamma scarf or my honkin' boots. SO REALLY, my weight gain last time was probably just 4 pounds.

This time, however, I became wise and took off the scarf and boots. NO BIG JEWELRY either! HA!

So in reality, I probably gained 2 pounds in the last four weeks. I know I sound psycho, but living in moderation when it comes to food is HARD for me.

If I want olives, I eat a jar. If I want popcorn, I eat a bag. If I want __________, I eat it!

SO SURPRISED, by my ~weight gain~ I ABSOLUTELY FORGOT ABOUT THE PART OF BEING PREGNANT WHERE YOU GET TO LISTEN TO THE BABY'S HEARTBEAT!!!

What a wonderful way to start the weekend!

All is well with our third and I'm energized enough to keep on going to the Y.

By the way, if you haven't met Hillary @ The Other Mama, you should hop on over and introduce yourself! She's right friendly, a mama to TWO boys with a little girl on the way. See, it really does happen! What are you waiting for? Go on and tell her I sent ya! And check out every one else's FAVORITES!

Don't you love that sound? Jason missed the 12 week appt (he usually skips the boring ones with my permission and insistance) and when I told him I got to hear the heartbeat, he said, "did it still sound like a washing machine?"
Yep. That's it exactly! :) The only washing machine sound I like!
And I hear you on the weight gain. I was going to the doc in a tank top and short short in DECEMBER! *snort* It's totally a mental thing. And I don't care.
I'm all, "let me take off my earrings" before I get on the scale. And I don't care! ha!

The last time I went to the doctor, I took off my shoes before getting on the scale. And then I laughed at myself and said to the nurse, "It's not like those are 50-lb shoes, are they?" :)

Congratulations on Baby C and how fun to hear the heartbeat!!

Aw, I loved hearing the heartbeats for the first time. Now I get to hear "Mama, I need chocolate milk" about 50 times a day. Not nearly as exciting, but dairy procurment is an important job too... giggle
Thanks for sharing!!!

I loved hearing Allie Claire's little heartbeats! My goodness, it seems like it's been forever ago!! You are smart taking off your boots and scarf! The heartbeat is the best part for sure and the weighing in is the WORST!

Hi! I hopped over here from Hillary's blog. Yeah for the suprise Zero Gain! I'm totally with you on the all or nothing eating plan. I'm more on the nothing side now, though, as my babies are almost grown!

We have a crazy lab, too. He's enormous, about 110 pounds, and his head is level with my waist. Max is nine, and finally beginning to settle down a bit - he doesn't try to steal the milk jugs out of the fridge any more.
