We Thought We Knew What We Were Doing

Baby C's first photo at 8 weeks

For the last 17 days, I've thought a lot about what it will mean to be a mom to three girls. A lot.

Baby C's gender revealing photo at 17 weeks

I really resolved myself to the fact that God's plan involved me plus three girls. I got excited about becoming a mom of three girls. I was at peace with who our family was expecting. Was?

Do you know where this is leading?

At my 20 week ultrasound today, we found out that our baby is healthy, growing right on track. Strong heartbeat. Almost 14 ounces.
We also found out that we are not having a girl.

IT'S A BOY!
We're in a fog of confusion and shock right now, but it is definitely NOT a girl.

The Daddy had a big work-related event today, so he wasn't planning on coming with me to the doctor today. Yesterday I had a "moment" of emotion and just felt like he needed to be there. What if something was wrong? What if the baby wasn't developing the way she should be? hee hee hee

Little did we know that his presence there today would turn out to be the sweetest thing. I might start crying now, but my first reaction was laughter.

I feel safe in discussing the lovely names I had chosen for this baby: Charlotte, Evelyn, Virginia, Wyn, Reagan...ALL IN THE TRASH CAN NOW.

I'm pulling out our list of names from our first go around as expectant parents. We did not find out the gender with AE, so we DO have a list of boy names already. I can't discuss names yet, but I think The Daddy has a serious opinion.

Hello there, fellow!

Big feet

Definitely not a girl!

Considering the title of yesterday's post, I think this is what you'd call IRONIC!

Awesome! Little boys love their mamas. I remember thinking several weeks ago that it was going to be a little boy!

How fun!!!!!!! I had a friend find out at delivery that the ultrasound was wrong- they had a boy and let me tell you her pilot husband was out the door in a flash replacing all of the pink clothes!

I think 2 girls and a boy is perfect. :)

That's kinda crazy to go from one to the other in that short a time. I once saw a Baby Story where they had twins, were told it was two boys and actually turned out to be two girls. How do you get it that wrong??

So happy for you guys!
