She Picked Out Her Dress on Monday...

...and The Daddy wore a tie with flowers and butterflies on it. They just so happened to match one another.

HJ wanted pink cheeks, sparkly eyes and lipstick. She wanted to look her BEST.

Her corsage was a little loose,

but it perfectly matched her nails.

They're on a date tonight!

Big Stuff

FOUR.

A Phillips' family tradition: the pancake birthday breakfast!

After dropping her sister off for preschool, we headed to Home Depot to buy a couple plants. Little Miss HJ thought she was big stuff sitting in her sister's car seat, right next to SJ.

Then we went to our sweet little bake shop for a birthday cupcake. At 10:00 am.

We're heading over to the Chick-fil-A to pick up lunch for a picnic in the park. I'm hoping the lady who brings her pet turtle to walk in the park will be there for the girls to see.

Yes. A pet turtle on a leash.

Wouldn't the sight of that make your birthday complete?

The Re-Publix

I hope you'll have 19 seconds to watch our HJ show you what she's learned at preschool. A few notes:
  1. The "Re-Publix" reference gives you a clue about where we do our grocery shopping.
  2. SJ gives y'all a shout out, as I'm sitting right next to HJ holding him during the making of this film.
  3. You can see where SJ does all his daytime sleeping in the backdrop.
  4. Look even further back and you can get a little glimpse into our new master bedroom. The bed MAY or MAY NOT be made. You never can tell these days.
  5. Yes, I know. I still haven't shown you our renovation final products. I've got to move the breast pump out to take pictures. Soon, soon, soon.
  6. I love the way HJ blinks, blinks and blinks while she thinks hard to remember all the words.
  7. HJ twiddles her fingers while she talks. Just like me when I'm nervous.
  8. Don't you want to eat her up?

After Apple Picking...

This mama has had enough of apple picking.

I am overtired.

I have had too much!

*500 nerd points if you can name the American poet who inspired this post!

It's a Bird!

Ready? Set! Go!

...and this is where HJ stopped short of doing another belly flop. What a mischievous look!
